Hi there! It's been a little while. Here are some things I've run across lately:
- Guys, I'm not sure, but I think Captain Morgan Taco Rum might be an April Fool;
- or whiskey toothpaste (but it actually did exist in the '60s);
- Starbucks Evenings sounds like an April Fool, but apparently isn't (anyone remember Xando? Some Cosi stores would transform themselves into Xando cafes at night, and serve a full bar);
- you can get a Neil DeGrasse Tyson cocktail in Brooklyn;
- I wonder why this unaired commercial for Jeppson's Malort stayed in the vault;
- the "Legless" corkscrew is pretty cute;
- Every Cocktail Bar Menu Ever, according to CollegeHumor;
- Food Arts profiles Don Lee and Golden Cadillac;
- Drizly names the five most influential cocktails to come out of NYC in the past decade;
- and CLASS Magazine counts down the top ten worst cocktail names;
- speaking of CLASS, they're saying goodbye, and continuing on as the Diffordsguide blog;
- "vodka infused with Cognac" does not...sound like a good idea at all;
- the New York Daily News got a peek inside the State Liquor Authority's evidence room;
- Edible Manhattan has an interesting compendium of links to stories of New York State spirits and watering holes;
- and a neat story on how the Farm Distillery Act of 2007 helps New York distillers.
