Tiare is a self-confessed "hopeless syrup, bitters, infusion geek" from Sweden who makes fantastic-looking cocktails topped with beautiful fruit garnishes, and takes amazing photographs of them, which you can view here in her Flickr set. She's also started a blog called, A Mountain of Crushed Ice, that I'll be following with great interest.
I was particularly intrigued by her interpretation of the Trinidad Especial (pictured above), winner of the 2008 European Angostura Cocktail competition. Believe it or not, this drink contains over an ounce of Angostura bitters! Tiare claims it's very aromatic, but not bitter. I made one last weekend and couldn't finish it, so maybe I screwed up the recipe, or else my tongue just has too many bitter taste bud receptors.
