Doesn't this sound like fun? From Politico's "Playbook" today:
MSNBC’s “THE AFTER PARTY” following Saturday’s White House Correspondents’ Association dinner will feature Rachel Maddow tending bar, mixing Vieux Carres, Primm's Cups, rum daiquiris. The bash at the Mellon Auditorium, the biggest venue ever for an after-party, is being masterminded by Philip Dufour. MSNBC will have oysters, sushi, burgers, fries, milkshakes -- and breakfast for those like Jim VandeHei who keep the party going until the wee hours. Also: a full-service Starbucks bar. Upstairs: a martini tasting bar and Make Your Own S'mores.
"Primm's Cups"? Someone get Mike Allen a spell-checker. And a tasty summertime beverage. Sounds like a pretty good reason to go to the Correspondents' Dinner (aka "nerd prom", as one of my journo friends calls it.
By the way, I'd still love to interview Rachel Maddow for the site. (Her people won't have anything to do with me.) If you're seeing this, Rachel? Call me.
